Even when Lumilam glass is broken it stays firmly in place as it is bonded to the PVB interlayer. this means in the event of breakage there are no flying shards of glass that can cause death or injury to people in the vicinity, as the glass will stay in place in the frame even after being cracked. The glass also remains weather tight and retains it's integrity.
It can therefore be left in position and replaced when convenient.
